Catalog description

The Surgery Clinical Clerkship is a four-week required supervised clinical practice experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, management and treatment of common problems encountered in general surgery practice. Students will gain experience in pre- and post-operative assessment and care of the surgical patient, active participation in surgical cases in the operating room, outpatient follow-up care and performance of minor surgical procedures.
