Social Work Practice - Engagement

Catalog description

This class is the 3rd course in the Master of Social Work Program at Chamberlain University using an integrated model of didactic learning and students’ practicum experience grounded by practices that explicitly decenter White supremacy. The course provides students the opportunity to engage in a framework of knowledge, skills, and values to cultivate competent and responsive social work practice in client engagement. When completing this course, students will explore practice issues surrounding engaging clients through the demonstration of ethical and professional practice behaviors, advancing human rights, addressing intersectionality, and decolonization through the lens of rights-based, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive perspectives. Traditional Option Prerequisite: MSW-541 and MSW-542
