Catalog description

This systems-based module concentrates on the head, ears, eyes, nose and throat (HEENT) and associated disorders. Coordinated instruction includes anatomy, physiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, history and physical exam findings, clinical diagnostics, pharmacology, evidence-based medicine, genetics, medical procedures and prevention of emergent, acute and chronic conditions related to this area of study. Students are engaged in innovative and high technology simulations, both face-to-face and virtually, problem-based learning, and clinical case applications to help develop critical thinking and real-world professional skills needed for clinical practice and patient care.
