Catalog description
In this introductory course students study the biological principles governing the normal state of the human body with an emphasis on the structure and function of major organ systems. Through virtual labs, case studies, discussions, and other learning activities, students explore core concepts in biochemistry, biology, genetics, anatomy and physiology to gain an understanding of how human body systems normally work together to maintain a healthy state and respond to disease. The course will also cover topics such as human development, reproduction, nutrition, and the body's defenses against illness.
