Catalog description
Prerequisite: ENGL C1000 (formerly ENGL-1A). Exploration of the underlying structure of argument and the role of sound reasoning in the investigation of claims. Analysis of inductive and deductive argument reasoning, distinction of fact from opinion and belief from knowledge, identification of formal and informal fallacies, and application of learned skills to realistic life problems. A minimum of 5,000 written words is required over the term. Transfer: CSU; UC
