Prerequisite: ITIS-60 (formerly CISCYBR-1) and ITIS-65 (formerly CISCYBR-2). Note: ITIS-468 replaced CISCYBR-404 beginning with the fall 2026 term. The CISSP exam is the gold standard of certifications for security professionals and is aligned to (ISC)² standards. This certification is internationally recognized as the highest professional certification sought after by government agencies, businesses, and cybersecurity organizations. This course will help students prepare to take the CISSP exam, develop expertise in designing, building, and maintaining a secure information system, and learn appropriate countermeasures for security situations. The course approaches the CISSP from the lens of an organization that wishes to secure its operations, while also providing the student with the basic knowledge required to prepare for the CISSP certification.
