Advisory: Completion of ITIS-16 (formerly CIS-68 and CIS-420). Note: ITIS-425 replaced CIS-421 and CISIWEB-424 beginning with the fall 2026 term. Social Media technologies enable individuals to create, collaborate, and share information with audiences of all sizes. Students will explore the possibilities and limitations of social media in the business and Career and Technical Education environments and will gain hands-on experience with several forms of social media technology. Students will learn to use social media effectively, have a framework for understanding and evaluating new tools and platforms, and develop a website using the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). Includes wordpress.com and wordpress.org, using the dashboard, navigation, themes, plugins, widgets, organizing content, multimedia, blogs, security, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), troubleshooting, modifying with HTML, and other topics.
