Catalog description
Corequisite: GEOG-4 (may be taken previously). Formerly GEOG-5. This course is designed to provide supplemental exercises in topics covered in Physical Geography lecture. Lab experience will include map analysis and interpretation, weather prognostication, landform processes and evolution, tectonics, biogeography, and habitat analysis. Field activities offer on-site interpretation of climate, soils, and ecosystems. Students explore natural earth processes, applying concepts and tools of physical geography. Practical exercises, data analyses, and computer applications enhance understanding of spatial patterns and distributions. The course covers locational reference systems, weather, climate, soils, vegetation, and landforms, potentially including field trips.
