Intro to Creative Writing

Catalog description

This seminar introduces students to the principles and practices of creative writing across multiple genres, with an emphasis on short stories, poetry, and creative nonfiction. Students read and analyze published works from diverse voices alongside their peers' writing to develop critical standards for evaluation, explore the craft of language and form, and practice techniques of revision and editing. Through writing exercises and workshops, students create original works in different genres to experience a range of literary expression before choosing more specialized creative writing courses.
