SCHOOL COUNSELING INTERNSHIP-ELEMENTARY

Catalog description

This culminating field experience is designed for eligible School Counseling students to build upon the practicum experience and more deeply engage in counseling and guidance activities within an elementary school setting. Under the supervision of endorsed school counselors, students will immerse themselves in the practical application of counseling theories and techniques to support adolescent students in their academic, social, and emotional development while adhering to Nebraska state requirements for school counselor endorsement. Each student must accrue 450 clock hours with at least 180 hours of direct service. The semester before enrollment, the student must complete the internship application process and be pre-approved.
