Catalog description
This advanced field experience is a capstone for eligible Clinical Mental Health Counseling students, allowing them to refine theoretical knowledge, counseling skills, and critical thinking skills necessary in a real-world clinical setting. Under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals, students will engage in direct counseling activities, assessment, and intervention strategies while adhering to Nebraska state requirements for mental health practitioner licensure. Each student must accrue 300 clock hours with at least 150 hours of direct service. The semester before enrollment, the student must complete the internship application process and be pre-approved. Enrollment is limited to students accepted into the Clinical Mental Health Counseling MAE and the Mental Health and Addictions Ed.S programs.
