SCHOOL COUNSELING PRACTICUM

Catalog description

This introductory field experience allows eligible school counseling students to engage in practical counseling and guidance activities within a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 school setting. Under the supervision of a faculty supervisor and endorsed school counselor, students will begin to apply their theoretical knowledge and develop essential skills to support adolescents in their academic, social, and emotional growth, aligning with Nebraska state law requirements for school counselor endorsement. Each student must accrue 100 clock hours with at least 40 hours of direct service. The semester before enrollment, the student must complete the practicum application process and be pre-approved.
