Catalog description

The course explores psychopathology's social-biological origins and dynamics in adults and children. It introduces students to the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to facilitate making psychological diagnoses. Students will also receive an overview of the etiology of various psychological disorders crucial to helping clinicians recognize how psychopathology may develop, is maintained, and respond to treatment. Identifying variables associated with the onset and maintenance of psychological disorders may also help students differentiate among various psychological disorders.
