Prerequisite: Courses taught at the level of Introduction to College Composition with a grade of "C" or higher or "Pass" or equivalent or appropriate placement based on the college's multiple measures process with eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000E or a course at the level of college reading. A study of United States history tracing the development of American ideals and actions from the Pre-Revolutionary Period through the Civil War Era. Major political, social, economic, and cultural factors will be presented focusing on the roles played by the diverse peoples and cultures who shared in the development of United States history. An emphasis may be placed on one or more of these factors. (Formerly HIST 201)
