Catalog description
Prerequisite: Courses taught at the level of Introduction to College Composition with a grade of "C" or higher or "Pass" or equivalent or appropriate placement based on the college’s multiple measures process with eligibility for ENGL C1000 or ENGL C1000E. This course is an introduction to the study of natural disasters, including how the origins are explained by atmospheric disturbances and plate tectonics, and how new knowledge can be applied to the betterment of human welfare. The equivalent of three (3) one-day field trips is required and constitutes the laboratory portion of this course.
