Catalog description

The focus of this course is on the theory and clinical application of the Nursing Process and Clinical Judgment when providing care for patients across the lifespan. This course facilitates the transition from student nurse to graduate nurse. The student participates as a preceptee or mentee/member of the healthcare team and assumes responsibility for a group of patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a non-faculty preceptor. Course content includes professional nursing and healthcare concepts. By the end of this course, the graduate is expected to function satisfactorily within the Nurse of the Future Competencies.
