Catalog description

This course introduces students to an in-depth study of U.S. literature and U.S. literary nonfiction. Topics include foundational works and documents from the 17th century and at least one Shakespearian play. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of 18th, 19th, and early 20th century works of American literature.
