Catalog description

An introduction to instructional practices appropriate for middle level content area teachers, implementing culturally responsive reading and writing programs in the classroom. Topics include teaching reading provisions, young adult literature, writing, speaking and listening; unit planning and evaluation. Field experience in a middle school is required. This is a professional education course and requires a grade of C or better for education majors.
