Catalog description

This course provides a summary of the current legislation governing the provision of health care services, the accountability and responsibilities of health care providers, and the rights of individuals receiving services. Includes, but is not limited to: HIPAA, standards of care, professional Codes of Ethics, Practice Acts, Informed Consent, and the concepts of beneficence, social justice, non-maleficence, altruism, autonomy, human dignity, and integrity in the provision of health care services. Additional Prerequisites / Conditions: AH300 or HS300 or HS110 .Prerequisite may be taken as a co-requisite. Must earn a C to pass this course.
