Catalog description

Introduction to contemporary typography and design. This class explores the principles of applied design as used in the production of brochures, catalogs, magazines, newspapers, etc. Topics will include the use of type, layout, and the use of visual elements using graphics software for project presentation. Basic concepts, principles and elements of design are reinforced through creative problem solving. Students will begin portfolio development. Prerequisite: AR121
