Catalog description

This course is an advanced study of creative writing craft and pedagogy. We will read, write, and discuss creative genres, and the pedagogies of creative genres. There is a craft emphasis on the creative process, including pre-writing, drafting and revision, draft workshops, collaborative writing, and creative exercises. Simultaneously, there are creative writing pedagogy readings and course discussions to reflect and evaluate creative writing practices. The course will allow the student to develop a portfolio of creative work and a unit lesson plan for a creative genre. Standard 1
