This course examines the current practices and philosophies of probation and parole within the American Penal System. A main subfield of study within corrections, this is a focused area of study on probation and parole’s use and expansion rates, recidivism, the probation and parole profession, the juvenile justice system, counseling, and family services as well as other areas of focus. Prereq. – CJ100 Introduction to Criminal Justice
