FOUNDATIONS OF COLLEGE ALGEBRA

Catalog description
Students will learn and review basic mathematical concepts needed to succeed in College Algebra. Concepts covered will include graphing, functions, linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations, operations with real numbers, polynomials, rational functions, and radical functions. This course is a sufficient condition for mathematics placement (see the university's Mathematics, Reading, and Writing Placement policy). Students must be enrolled in MATH 1390 (College Algebra) to enroll in UNIV 0390. A grade of D or better in the college-level course signifies completion of the developmental requirement. This course does not count toward degree requirements and will not be used to compute semester or cumulative grade point averages.
