Catalog description

Required for middle level education majors with a science concentration. The course is a study of methods used in teaching integrated mathematics and science in middle schools. The course includes basic models, strategies, and skills for teaching. In addition, the course emphasizes methods that actively engage students in learning. Course goals will be accomplished through the use of demonstrations, discussion, and field experiences. Prerequisites: MATH 3352 and SCI 3320 or 3425.
