Catalog description

A required course in the logistics and supply chain management major and minor and an elective in the management and marketing majors and minors. Designed to familiarize students with the importance, characteristics, and multi-faceted nature of logistics and supply chain management and the strategies through which firms may gain a sustained competitive advantage through their implementation. This class includes an analysis of business logistics and supply chain principles, including customer service, customer service operations, warehouse and distribution center operations, order processing, facility design and operations, information technology in supply chain management, supply chain relationships, the interaction of logistics and other firm processes, and the effects of supply chain management on firm performance.
