Catalog description

This course includes the following topics: linear systems of differential equations with constant coefficients and matrix exponentials; systems with periodic coefficients and Floquet theory; properties of solutions of linear and nonlinear systems; behaviors near equilibrium and the stability of equilibrium; stable/unstable manifolds, the Hartman-Grobman theorem and the center manifold theorem; the Poincare-Bendixson theorem; bifurcation of equilibria; and the existence and uniqueness of solutions. Prerequisites: MATH 3331 or equivalent.
