Taken in the fall semester of the freshman year, the Search for Meaning is a gateway course to the Schedler Honors Program. The goal of the course is to explore areas of social responsibility and disciplinary expertise. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students learn to identify and evaluate sources of information, understand ethical frameworks, frame arguments, and provide evidence. This course draws on material from multiple traditions and prepares students to apply what they learn to their personal journeys. HONP 1300 fulfills the FYS, HUM, and Responsible Living requirements of the lower-division UCA Core. Prerequisite: Admission to the Schedler Honors College Program.
