LEADERSHIP IN SPORT MANAGEMENT

Catalog description

This course will provide students with both theoretical and practical information on leadership in sport. Pertinent leadership theories (transactional, transformational, authentic, and servant) will be studied along with case studies on how these are applied by practitioners to inform decision-making in sport. Students will gain a further understanding of the importance of leadership in sport organizations as well as how to recognize their own leadership style and the leadership style of those around them.
