EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY

Catalog description
A required course for baccalaureate programs in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science and an elective for students with an allied health career interest. This course emphasizes the study of muscular activity and the associated energy systems, the general effects of exercise on physiologic processes and body functions, and the adaptations that occur as a result of physical exercise training. Lecture, laboratories, specialized computer software and a research project. Prerequisites: EXSS 2381 or BIOL 2405 or 3406 or 1410 with a grade of C or better, or consent of instructor. Note that registration in BIOL 1410 is open only to pre-nursing majors.
