Satisfies upper-division language or elective requirements. This course examines specific topics and problems of English grammar, structure, and usage in order to provide an understanding and command of language that will lead to effective and creative classroom teaching of English and language arts. Emphasis on the study of grammar in context to afford greater facility in approaching and analyzing texts. Lecture, discussion, writing.
