Catalog description

This course is required for the BS in Economics (pre-law emphasis). The course also serves as an elective in the following programs: the general BS economics major, the BBA economics major, and the economics minor. While taking the law and economics class, students will analyze how laws and legal institutions influence economic efficiency and economic outcomes. In their study of laws, students will focus on property rights, contracts, tort law, criminal law, and constitutional law. In their study of institutions, students will focus on using public choice theory to explain the evolution of law.
