Catalog description
An elective for majors and minors. This course outlines the structure and philosophy of federal and state courts in the U.S. Emphasis is placed on criminal court structure, law and procedure, the trial process, and the role of court personnel. While primary focus is placed on adult criminal courts, the structure and function of juvenile courts will be addressed. Lecture and discussion. Prerequisite: CRIM 2300.
