THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS I

Catalog description
This is a required course for the graduate athletic training program. Students will explore the concepts of how therapeutic modalities and mechanical agents affect the stages of wound healing. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the indications, contraindications, and physiological effects of exercise therapeutic modalities and manual techniques. Students will develop knowledge and psychomotor skills in rehabilitation, application of therapeutic modalities and manual techniques for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Primary methods of instruction include lecture, discussion, laboratory experiences, and a research project. Prerequisites: ATTR 5300 and 5325, both with a grade of C or better.
