3 Theory Credit 2 - 3 This course is designed to acquaint the student with the nature of musical acoustics and the science of sound. Topics include terminology, symbols, the nature and transmission of sound, vibration, frequency, pitch, intervals, harmonies, resonance, consonance and dissonance. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the basic skills and concepts through the successful presentation of an individual project in musical acoustics.
