Catalog description

After 12 months of intensive study and didactic coursework, you are ready to apply clinical skills, interpersonal communication, medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving to real-life patient assessment, diagnosis, and management through supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) in the 4-week Clinical Rotation in Emergency Medicine. The emphasis of Emergency Medicine is to provide rapid and methodical assessment, evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of acute and emergent patient presentations across the lifespan and work as a member of the emergency department team. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PA program. Successful completion of preceding courses in PA program.
