Catalog description

After 12 months of intensive study and didactic coursework, you are ready to apply clinical skills, interpersonal communication, medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving to real-life patient assessment, diagnosis, and management through supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) in the 4-week Clinical Rotation in Surgery. The Surgery rotation is designed to introduce you to various surgically manageable disease processes seen in adult patients. You will engage in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of the patient and work as a member of a surgical team. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PA program. Successful completion of preceding courses in PA program.
