Catalog description

After 12 months of intensive study and didactic coursework, you are ready to apply and practice clinical skills, interpersonal communication, medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving to real-life patient assessment, diagnosis, and management through supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) in the 4-week Clinical Rotation in Women's Health. The emphasis of this rotation will be both the management of gynecologic diseases and conditions and the provision of prenatal care. You will also apply and practice incorporating preventative care to include health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and counseling specific to the needs of women patients. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PA program. Successful completion of preceding courses in PA program.
