Catalog description

After 12 months of intensive study and didactic coursework, you are ready to apply clinical skills, interpersonal communication, medical knowledge, clinical reasoning and problem-solving, and professional behaviors to real-life patient assessment, diagnosis, and management through supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) in the 4-week Clinical Rotation in Family Medicine. Family Medicine provides care to patients across the lifespan and emphasizes disease prevention and patient empowerment through education and counseling. Family Medicine clinicians also diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases and conditions in the outpatient setting. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PA program. Successful completion of preceding courses in PA program.
