Catalog description

Third course of a four-course sequence covering the concepts of calculus and analytic geometry. Introduction to vectors and differential calculus of several variables. Topics include vectors and geometry in three-space, vector-valued functions, curvature, partial derivatives, directional derivatives, gradients, extrema of functions of several variables, optimization, and Lagrange multipliers. Prerequisite: MATH-1715 Calculus II or equivalent; or permission of instructor.
