Catalog description
This course is designed to explore the various methods and theories essential to the teaching of English language arts. In this course, students will discuss and practice with theories of Backward Design, Long-term Planning and Assessment, 21st Century Skills, and High-leverage practices as they are specifically demonstrated in writing, reading, speaking, listening and language development. Upper level literature courses cannot be used as a substitution for the general education literature requirement. Prerequisites: ENG-1400 Composition; EDUC-2000 Introduction to Diverse Learners, currently in EDSE-3100 Principles of Teaching Adolescent and Young Adult, or permission of instructor.
