Graduate Movement II: Dynamics of the Body/Freeing the Instrument

Catalog description
This course will focus on embodiment of specific physical movements and qualities, cultivating both the ability to shift with clarity from one state to another, and to radiate in stillness with magnetic presence, Actors will grow in their dynamic articulation, insightful and expanded range, and vivid acting presence. Deepening the exploration of space, time, and presence, actors will further manifest as shape shifters and meaning makers, applying learned practices to character, relationship, and text. In addition, actors will continue their development of warm up and rehearsal techniques, collaborative process, and experiential wisdom. Experiential practices explored this semester include: Somatics 2: Experiential Anatomy and Body Dynamics, Body Mind Centering, The Viewpoints, Le Coq -- 13 Movements, Ashaya Yoga, and Creative Ensemble Practice. Prereq: THTR 401 .
