Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the key conceptual, computational, and statistical methodologies used in spatial data analysis. Core topics include visualizing spatial data, variogram and spatial covariance functions, spatial regression models, parameter estimation, spatial prediction and kriging, spectral representation, intensity functions, methods for large spatial datasets, spatiotemporal models, and others. Students will gain experience in statistical theory, methodologies, and computational tools for practical spatial data analysis. The R statistical software will be used throughout the course. Prereq: STAT 244 or STAT 346 or STAT 446 .
