Catalog description

Aerospace Physiology entails an understanding of human performance in response to the challenges of work and exploration in at higher earth atmosphere and space. The principles of human systems physiology in the non-diseased state were introduced in PHOL 421 (Introduction to Aerospace Physiology I). Introduction to Aerospace Physiology II expands on basic physiologic principles to explore whole body effects of the environmental challenges encountered by the aerospace traveler. Methods to identify and promote resilience will be considered. The course will additionally introduce concepts relevant to human factors and aviation mishaps. Enrollment is limited to students accepted to the Graduate Certificate in Aerospace Physiology or the MS in Aerospace Physiology. Prereq: PHOL 421 .
