What qualities do we depend on in society so that people are trustworthy? One way to think about that question is through the study of moral character. In this class, we learn about how philosophers have thought about moral character from ancient times to the present and within different cultural traditions. Students also get the chance to reflect on the moral character they want to have themselves. Topics include accountability, prudence, compassion, and moral luck. Counts as a Communication Intensive course. Counts as a Moral & Ethical Reasoning course.
