In this course you will learn and practice how to collaborate and communicate effectively in teams. Working in teams is inevitable, and often a part of one's everyday life at school, work, and in the community. It is important to learn the core concepts and skills essential for effective teamwork. By drawing on research and real-world situations, this introductory course will provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to work effectively in team environments. The course emphasizes applied learning through experiential activities, discussions, case studies, and structured opportunities to practice collaboration and communication within team contexts. As a communication intensive course, students will participate in both individual and team presentations, collaborate on team deliverables, and engage in reflective writing assignments to develop self-awareness about their roles in team processes. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify and apply strategies for effective team communication, demonstrate skills in collaboration and coordination, and adapt their communication practices to meet the demands of diverse team settings.
