Catalog description

Confidence is not an inborn trait; it is a skill that can be learned, practiced, and refined. This course offers a comprehensive journey in building authentic confidence through three interconnected pillars: self-mastery and resilience, interpersonal confidence and leadership, and professional presence and career readiness. Students will engage in interactive exercises, simulations, guest lectures, community engagement, and a culminating Confidence in Action Showcase that connects classroom learning to real-world application. Students will walk away with a Confidence Blueprint portfolio that can be referenced and built upon as they continue to mature in their confidence journey. The design of this course allows sessions to build upon each other while remaining accessible to students at any stage of their undergraduate journey. A first-year student exploring identity and transition to college, a junior preparing for leadership roles, or a senior preparing to launch into a career or graduate program will each find meaningful and practical opportunities to grow. The emphasis is on equipping students not only with confidence for college success but also with skills that extend into careers, communities, and lifelong personal development. Counts as a Communication Intensive course. Counts as a Full-Semester Wellness/Non-movement course.
