Catalog description

This course will focus on the health needs of childbearing individuals and their families during preconception, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum period. Topics related to the reproductive system will be explored. The influence of intervening variables on bio-psycho-social development of the childbearing family will be analyzed. During the clinical experience, students will implement and evaluate nursing strategies designed to enhance the wellbeing of parents and neonates across states of health and illness. Prereq: NUMN 407 .
