Catalog description

Optimal athletic performance requires more than training alone--it demands a strategic, evidence-based approach to nutrition. This half-semester course is designed specifically for Spartan student-athletes, performers, and physical fitness enthusiasts who want to understand the science behind fueling, hydration, recovery, and supplementation. Weekly topics include Fueling for Performance, Hydration Strategies, Recovery Nutrition, Dietary Supplements, Fitness Testing Applications, and Media Literacy in Nutrition. Through applied activities and critical analysis, students will gain the knowledge and tools needed to support training adaptations, enhance performance, and reduce risk of illness and injury. Counts as a Half-Semester Wellness/Movement course.
