Klezmer Music Ensemble

Catalog description

The Klezmer Music Ensemble is dedicated to learning and performing traditional East European Jewish folk music (Klezmer Music). This important genre of world music involves a specialized performance style, a unique repertoire, and chamber-music interaction. Classes will consist of two-hour sessions (once a week) culminating with a performance to be scheduled at the end of the semester. The ensemble is open by audition to all CWRU and CIM instrumentalists and vocalists. Counts as a Human Diversity & Commonality course.
