Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the ethical, methodologic, and informatics foundations of clinical and translational research. Students will examine the history of the field, regulatory frameworks governing human subjects research, and core principles of clinical trial design. The course will explore the ethical obligations of investigators and address conflicts of interest, responsible recruitment of research participants, and standards of research and publication ethics. Additional topics include technology transfer, the design and use of biobanks, and the development and utilization of clinical and research databases.
